The Perihelion Effect

The Power of Perihelion

We are all familiar with the idea of holiday stress. That feeling that time is going by faster and faster from Autumn until New Years.

Sometimes it is a feeling of losing control, insomnia or the surreal feeling of losing your mind. Usually this is attributed to the pressures of buying gifts, seeing family, travel obligatory festivities, etc.

Holidays were intended to be joyous celebrations bringing together people in the dark winter months to celebrate the season.
Winter Solstice and Ancient celebrations of thanks and miracles, Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, and finally New Year have been winter holidays for hundreds or likely thousands of years.
Two thousand years ago the Roman’s celebrated Saturnalia and later Sol Inviticus a day celebrating the re-birth of the undying sun on this same day.
Later, early Christians appropriated this holiday to represent the birth of a sinless baby savior.

Many people, on the other hand, are anxious rather than joyful.
Sleep deprivation is common, as are feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Suicidal ideation is not uncommon.
It’s a Wonderful Life and Dicken’s Christmas Carol are just two examples of the dozens of films that depict the otherworldly magic as well as the psychological terror that prevails at this time of year.
The popular belief is that the cause is the shorter days and fleeting rays of light, and that holidays alleviate these feelings.
Feasting, celebrating, eating, drinking.
In with the new, out with the old.
These are all ritualized reactions to the external rituals of the season.
But could the stress be caused by holidays responding to the body’s response to the tension of the season?
Is it the other way around, or vice versa?
Would you be surprised to hear that holidays are not random, but rather also a ceremonial map of the collective sense of time and its effects on the individual?

December holidays were proclaimed as ‘holy days’ because they are times when we collectively sync-up our views in an attempt to make sense of the personal interior sentiments, perceptions, and emotions that appear to be so heightened.

Sumarian mystics estimated the significance of winter celebrations thousands of years ago to determine their calendar based on their grasp of the 365-day solar year.

What if this is not an arbitrary subjective holiday feeling? Be it good or bad, everybody notices this shift in energy to a degree. Some as wonder, and many people, on the other hand, are anxious rather than joyful.

The popular belief is that the cause is the shorter days and fleeting rays of light, and that holidays alleviate these feelings.
Feasting, celebrating, eating, drinking.
In with the new out with the old.
These are all ritualized reactions to the stresses of the holiday season.

Could the stress be caused by holidays responding to the body’s response to something geophysical season?
Is it the other way around, or vice versa?

Would you be surprised if I told you that holidays are not random, but rather a ceremonial means of understanding the collective mass sense of time and its effects?

The December holidays are truly ‘holy days’ because they are when we collectively structure and sync up our schedules in an attempt to make sense of the personal interior sentiments, perceptions, and emotions that appear to be so heightened at this time of year.

What if this is an indication of a real psycho-physical phenomena that has a cause and effect.
What if this is the very root of our holiday schedule.
What if the drive to understand the human place in time as the motivation for our modern calendar has at its core an identifiable process that we feel but have never before defined as such.

There is just such a phenomena.
It is simple to understand.
It is rational, scientific, spiritual, and mystical and absurd all at the same time.
It is alchemical in a sense but simply logical in another.
But because you have never thought of it in the right way before you have never considered the real significance of the holidays.
There is a hidden code within the calendar. Something that has always been there but you are just now about to notice.

I have my own theory about this. A hypothesis, and an exploration of a new paradigm for science in the 21st century.

Sit back…You are about to learn about The power of perihelion.
